FREE SPEECH ZONE | Governor Dayton Environment Public Forums A Fraud

I recently attended an event sponsored by Governor Dayton. It was on environmental issues, had Ellen Anderson there and they were “seeking our thoughts” on how to move forward. The forum I attended was in Bloomington but the forums are going on all over the state. In each event they got almost twice as many people as expected. In Bloomington they prepared for 180 but 300 showed up. Continue Reading

FREE SPEECH ZONE | Cavlan US Senate Campaign

Since the Star  Tribune and MPR refuse to acknowledge that this campaign even exists. Even to the point of refusing to publish letters, articles or in MPR’s case even having our campaign on their websites. It has come to this. All of which do their readership and listeners a huge disservice and attempting to keep them misinformed and ignorant.Free Speech ZoneThe Free Speech Zone offers a space for contributions from readers, without editing by the TC Daily Planet. The opinions expressed in the Free Speech Zone and Neighborhood Notes, as well as the opinions of bloggers, are their own and not necessarily the opinion of the TC Daily Planet. In Minnesota, it is necessary to petition eligible voters in order to place an independent or third party candidate’s name, not with a major party, on the ballot.  For the past 12 years, Danene Provencher have been actively petitioning every election cycle, mostly in her hometown, Mound, to allow the third party candidate of her choice to participate in our democracy.  This year she is working toward collecting the 2,000 signatures required by the Minnesota Nominating Petition for Presidential Electors (M.S. 204B.07, Subd. 2.) to put Presidential Candidate Rocky Anderson on our November ballot.  Dannenne has petitioned numerous times in Mound and have always stayed within the legal bounds of signature collecting when she has been on public property.  She studied the information provided by the Minnesota Secretary of State’s office and is well aware of her First Amendment rights to free speech, peaceably assemble and petition citizens of the United States.   On Saturday, July 21st, during the Spirit of the Lakes Festival, Danene Provenncher went with another volunteer to the newly named Surfside Park on Cooks Bay to gather signatures.  They were quite stunned when a festival volunteer began scolding them, telling her that they were not allowed to collect signatures. FREE SPEECH ZONE | Michael Cavlan For US Senate 2012 Update

Greetings and solidarity from Minnesota. This is a very quick update on our efforts in Minnesota. I am of course working to be a Minnesota candidate for United States Senate. Thereby replacing Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar. However, since I am not a Democrat or Republican and we do not live in a true and equal democracy, my campaign and I have to gather 2000 signatures to have the “right” to get on the ballot here. We have two weeks to do so. At last count we have about 20 people willing to gather a variety of signatures. Continue Reading

FREE SPEECH ZONE | Occupy Minneapolis, Minnesota Law Enforcement and Illegal Drugs

Here is an update on the story from Occupy Minnesota and how local Minnesota law enforcement were giving young people illegal drugs and then releasing them into Peavey Plaza which is where Occupy Minneapolis has been camped, ever since the “progressive” Minneapolis City Council evicted us from the People’s Plaza, right outside Minneapolis City Hall.Free Speech ZoneThe Free Speech Zone offers a space for contributions from readers, without editing by the TC Daily Planet. The opinions expressed in the Free Speech Zone and Neighborhood Notes, as well as the opinions of bloggers, are their own and not necessarily the opinion of the TC Daily Planet. The focus of this story has been the corporate media and their “response” to this story. As far as I can tell WCCO (located right where the police were picking up sober kids and returning them stoned) have been the only corporate media to even cover this story. They framed it as a good thing, an aid to local law enforcement. Continue Reading

FREE SPEECH ZONE | Occupy Minnesota Confront Mayor RT Rybak On Police Brutality

Exerpt from Minneapolis Star Tribune by Randy Furst Tuesday April 10th”A man who identified himself as Osha Karow tried to question Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak after Tuesday’s meeting at City Hall.”Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak told protesters from the Occupy movement on Tuesday he’d pass along complaints of police brutality to Police Chief Tim Dolan for investigation, but the mayor declined to criticize police for how they handled demonstrators Saturday.”About 75 protesters crowded into a room in City Hall, where they fired questions and blasted police for the mistreatment they said they received when they marched through downtown Minneapolis.”The article above is the example of the very “best” coverage that corporate media did in this event. The Minneapolis Star Tribune was there, along with KSTP Channel 5 (whose cameraman was allegedly assaulted by Minneapolis police) WCCO TV, Fox 9/20 and MPR.Free Speech ZoneThe Free Speech Zone offers a space for contributions from readers, without editing by the TC Daily Planet. I was there and know for a fact that the assembled journalists were filming it.All of it was cut to shreds or as stated not ran at all.Below is that the corporate media refused to run or show the people of Minnesota and Minneapolis. The only ones who believe or state that KSTP is doing a “good job” are those who are apologists of or indeed part of the rotten corrupted political system in Minnesota. As an aside, in the fourth section you can hear me making a statement.
