Northeasters love their neighborhood – and their presidents

In Minneapolis it is a sad fact that most of the street names are logical, but boring. Still, there are exceptions. Streets in Southwest Minneapolis, for example, still bear the names of prominent citizens who built the city. Some neighborhood street names are just plain quirky, often the remnants of the original landowners. Northeast stands out as the most patriotic of all neighborhoods. The Presidents’ Streets are legendary, an inspiration to most and a conundrum to those who aren’t up to speed on American history. Continue Reading

Lowry Bridge light show

Yesterday the Lowry Bridge tested its LED lights for about an hour.  The display was dazzling, and here’s hoping we get more such shows in the future.  I used my phone’s time-lapse feature to condense the bridge’s performance down to a more accessible two minutes. Continue Reading

Happily Ever After… Thus far, anyway

People, I am having just one hell of a Monday.

I’m out of clean underwear, I brought two towels to the gym, but no iPod, I changed purses, which means I am currently without phone or makeup.
