Free parking

I spent a bit of time downtown this week and found that I can park for free. The downside it that sometimes I go to meetings with helmet hair, but heck I can’t have everything. I can get through the road construction with the greatest of ease and sometimes people even wave at me — but not with all fingers.

This is the summer to garden

I was going to say this is the week to start the garden but most gardeners I know have their gardens prepared and ready to plant or planted already. I use a tiller for the vegetable garden and a shovel for the smaller gardens. I got an early start this year for a change because of the weather. The flower beds were planted a couple of weeks ago. I have a friend who has Ophidiophobia which is a fancy word for fear of snakes.  For years I could not figure out why my next door neighbor would not just help her self to my rhubarb.  She loves the stuff but it turns out she too is afraid of snakes and they love to slither through my rhubarb patch. Pet friendly

For people with dogs living some place that is pet friendly is important. Many of the downtown condos allow pets, including dogs. This topic comes up often, and I suspect that there are people who would like to live in a condo but who do not because they believe that they need a place with a yard and that pets are not allowed in condos. Sharing a phone

I really wasn’t into telephones much until I was at least ten. When we wanted to contact a friend we simply walked over to the house and knocked on the door “Can Jimmy come out, Mrs. Byrne?” It worked pretty well for the most part and since we all lived on the same block; if Jimmy could not come outside to play it was just a few steps to Craig’s house, or Tommy’s.
