First I heard from DFL legislators complaining that during committee hearings some Republicans were unable to answer questions about bills they authored. I remember one Representative quipping “it was like he didn’t even write the bill himself.”
Several groups have joined together to file a lawsuit with the Minnesota Supreme Court over the language of the Photo ID Amendment on the 2012 ballot. The American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota, the League of Women Voters Minnesota, Jewish Community Action and Common Cause Minnesota filed the lawsuit.
Minnesota faces a coming crisis. If there were to be a zombie apocalypse, Minnesota is completely unprepared. While zombies don’t actually exist … at least as of now … we can all agree on one thing — if they were to appear, we’re in trouble.
The MN legislature needs to act immediately to stave of this possible zombie crisis.

We know that Republicans like to darken the faces of any Democratic candidates that are minorities like Erik Paulsen did to Ashwin Madia. We know that Republicans like to fear-monger to their base’s racism. Past racism by Republicans will seem subtle compared to the racism of the modern Republican party.
I am opposed to the Protect IP Act. I see it as the next step in providing corporations with complete control of the internet. Considering how hard Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) fought for net neutrality, I was shocked to learn that he was co-sponsoring the bill. So I made some calls and spoke with some staffers about Al’s position.

I think the SD59 special election primary race is fascinating. First off, the primary winner will win the general because this is Minneapolis. Secondly, SD59 decided not to hold a endorsing convention. There are 5 legitimate candidates all vying to replace Larry Pogemiller in the Minnesota Senate. The candidates are Kari Dziedzic, Jacob Frey, Mohamud Noor, Paul Ostrow and Peter Wagenius.
