I was happy to wear a couple of stickers while I attended the 2011 Twin Cities Pride Parade. One was a long time connection – Women Against Military Madness – END WAR; and an new affiliation and one of the draws to my first viewing of the Pride Parade, – Minnesotans United for All Families.
Please, if any honest Republicans read this, take back your party from those wackos now in control. The crowd that is currently working the levers are making all Republicans look foolish. If you cannot retake leadership and exercise a rational policy do not support that party. Restore some moral integrity please.
The reason I attended is because I support Human Rights, and for the music.
And I support equality.
One family caught my attention early, and expressed my concerns, eloquently.
I am with you kids.
Some people get Jesus’s message. In fact it was encouraging that a number of congregations were represented in the parade. At some point I will get my images posted to my flickr account.
Rainbow Families Rock!
I have heard that God loves children too. All children. I also remember that it is not for us to judge. I plan to VOTE NO on the Marriage amendment, and work to remove those that have placed a discriminating policy up to a majority vote. The majority (such as in control of our Sate Houses presently) can be wrong. Speak out. Act to stop this misguided strategy that lacks compassion. They are wrong about a lot of things, but they are correct in that actions need to be as principled as Jesus’ teachings. They are again wrong in how they interpret God’s word.
Indifference is not an option. The issue is one that frightens some of our fellow citizens. We need to reassure them that God judges, man transgresses, and people are not good at judging others. And we need to be carful about following false prophets. The ones over the bend will not understand. It is the others we associate with, we need to share and listen to. The people who practice the Golden Rule understand. They will VOTE NO to discrimination.
