I like to think of myself as a "weird" writer. Most of my work falls under genre categories, but by the same token I strive to stretch what is genre into what is literary and vice-versa. My short fiction is generally horror or dark fantasy, occasionally drifting into science-fiction of the Philip K Dick or J.G. Ballard variety. "Arcadian Gates", a hallucinatory science-fiction novel, will be published in July by Blastgun Books.I enjoy writing film essays, as it is a good way to combine my love of film and my love of writing and to share that which I value in cinema. I like to dig in and find meanings in the films outside of the usual academic critical style.
