CNO would like to welcome William Carlisle, or Will, as he is affectionately known. Will is one of CNO’s newest Executive Board Members and also the June feature. He has been serving on the board since February 2014.
In 1979, Will’s mother gave birth to a baby boy (Will) who would one day live to serve his country, meet his wife, become a father as well as a Head Chef for CEO executives, and many more experiences yet to come.
Will, his wife Lori, and their 4 school age children (2 girls and 2 boys) reside near the Corcoran Park on the 33rd St. / 19th Ave. block. He has lived in South Minneapolis for most of his life, a large portion of it in the Corcoran Neighborhood.
His parents were already living on the 32nd St. / 24th Ave. block when he was brought home from the hospital. He spent the better part of his early childhood in Corcoran. Then later his family relocated to the Longfellow Neighborhood on Snelling Ave. until he graduated from Highland Park High School in St. Paul.
He joined the Marine Corp for 4 years. Three days after the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks he was deployed to Afghanistan where he actively served for 7 months. During that time, he met his Wife Lori, who was also proudly serving our country in the U. S. Navy.
In 2002, Will and Lori returned to Corcoran on 33rd street. Since 2002 he and his family have moved 3 times on the same street. Their children have only known the Corcoran Neighborhood.
Currently, Will works for a catering company that has been contracted by Cargill, where he is “head Chef for the Cargill dining service and personal Chef of all the top Executives including the CEO at the Cargill MN Branch,” he said.
He loves music. He loves to sing. He loves to spend time at home with his family. When asked why he wanted to be a part of the CNO Board of Executives, he responded: “I want an opportunity to be physically active in community building.” He feels very invested in this community and would like to play an active part in keeping community. In the past Will has donated time, energy, and his services for community events.
