Block Club Leader Barbecue and National Night Out Planning

Not only for block club leaders, this event is for any Corcoran resident to meet neighbors, share ideas about getting to know the people on your block and preventing crime, and planning National Night Out events. In attendance will be Prevention Specialist Karen Notsch, other block leaders, CNO staff and board members, and Minneapolis Council Member Gary Schiff.

Art Out of the Box: Samurai Style

See what the noble warriors of Japan wore and be dazzled by details found in authentic samurai armor at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Get a taste of samurai fashion in an art workshop inspired by ancient Japanese armor.  The Art Out of the Box program is a collaboration between Hennepin County Library and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA).  Teen Art Educators lead programs for children based on pieces of art from the museum’s collections.
