by John Hoff | July 11, 2009 • One of the readers of this blog provided an interesting internet link which allowed me to transform my computer into a police scanner in a couple clicks of a mouse. With no effort at all, and no cost, I was soon listening to reports of stolen cars and no-account thugs causing trouble at an apartment complex.
The Adventures of Johnny Northside: Being the amazing, true-to-life adventures and (very likely) misadventures of a divorced man who seeks to take his education, activism and seemingly boundless energy to the North Side of Minneapolis, to help with a process of turning an arguably-blighted neighborhood into something approaching Urban Utopia. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t want to be near my child. This blog is dedicated to my 12-year-old son Alex, and his dream of studying math and robotics at MIT. |
Oh, my word.
Police scanners are much too addictive.
Information technology is one of the key advantages which pro-city “revitalizers” have in the battle to take our neighborhood back from thugs and transform our surroundings into Urban Utopia. So, naturally, I want to share this resource with my regular readers.
Here it is, and I hope the link works as well for readers as it did for me:
