Transition at the Daily Planet

After more than a decade of working to give voice to underrepresented communities, Jeremy Iggers will be stepping down as Executive Director of the Twin Cities Media Alliance (TCMA) on May 6. A founder of the organization and its flagship local news website, the Twin Cities Daily Planet, Jeremy helped grow the organization from a training ground for citizen journalists to a hub for media classes and trainings for individuals, nonprofits, and small businesses. The board of directors would like to sincerely thank Jeremy for his creative vision and tireless work for so many years.

Leading the organization through its next stage of development will be board member Adaobi Okolue, who will cede her board voting position and step in as Executive Director effective May 7. A writer and marketing strategist, Adaobi is also the founder and owner of Coloring Circles, a marketing studio in Minneapolis that works with organizations, small businesses, and creative entrepreneurs who empower people and community. Before setting out on her own, Adaobi held communication roles at the Page Education Foundation, Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) and Best Buy, Inc. Adaobi has served on countless nonprofit committees, including MCN’s Leadership Award Selection, MCN’s Technology & Communications Conference, and International Association of Business Communications Bronze Quill Awards. She has also served on the board for Young Nonprofit Professionals Network-Twin Cities, and is a Givens Foundation Black Writers Fellow Alum.

The board invites all of you to join us to bid a personal farewell and thank-you to Jeremy, and give a warm welcome to Adaobi, at our Sausage Fest and Birthday Party on May 6 at Summit Brewing. Tickets can be purchased here
We look forward to seeing you there and we thank you for your support of the organization through this transition.
