At the Twin Cities Daily Planet, we’re an edited news publication—but that’s where the similarities between us and traditional journalists end. We believe that there’s more knowledge to be found in our communities than can be found in any one newsroom, and to that end we aim to empower Twin Cities residents to tell their own story. We want to be your megaphone.
We’ve long maintained a community calendar open to all submissions. Recently we’ve begun highlighting certain events on that calendar as “TCDP Top Picks.” Those picks get special real estate in our newsletters, with a short passage written by me or another writer explaining why those events are noteworthy.
In the service of our mission, we’d like to invite you to recommend some TCDP Top Picks. Just write to me—jay@tcdailyplanet.net—and let me know what event you’d like to recommend. It could be something you’re just looking forward to as a fan, or it could even be your own event!
Have a play you’re passionate about? Is your band playing a big gig? Is your art being featured in an upcoming exhibit? This is your chance to share your story, to explain why people should come out and take a look/listen. We want to help you find your audience. I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
