If you love 70s and 80s fashion, this fun and funky event might be just what the doctor ordered! This year’s RetroRama features retro fashion by local designers, inspired by the new “Sights, Sounds and Soul: Twin Cities through the lens of Charles Chamblis” exhibit. The event will also feature a short set by singer, Cynthia Johnson, the voice of “Funkytown.” Johnson will be joined by Twin Cities comedic personality, Fancy Ray McCloney, as emcee, and Larry “Spider” Hamilton as DJ.

Art-A-Whirl, is an art lover’s smorgasbord, featuring artwork from more than 500 artists in a variety of forms, over the course of three days in Northeast Minneapolis. The festival, in its 19th year, offers an unique opportunity to meet the vibrant artists in the community.

Twin Cities Burger Battle, May 17
Sample burgers for a worthy cause at the first annual Twin Cities Burger Battle! Attendees will have a chance to taste sliders from participating local restaurants, and vote to crown the People’s Choice Winner of Twin Cities burgers! Proceeds go to the Sanneh Foundation. Live music, games and activities will also be on hand.

The Midwest Comic Book Association presents SpringCon, May 17 – 18
Celebrating 26 years of service to the comic book industry, Midwest Comic Book Association (MCBA) invites you to SpringCon at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The lively event features over 100,000-square-feet of festive comic fun, including panel discussions, comic art, costumes and prizes. Open to collectors, casual fans, and newbies alike.
