A Taste of Phillips Art Festival kicks off Friday with a night of poetry, spoken word and music with open mic. The event features local youth poets and musicians Taylor Wilson, Holly Dunagan and Lowell Hanson.
On Saturday morning enjoy pastries and café con leche, see neighborhood artists’ work on display and pick up a guide to tour the new mosaics and murals throughout the neighborhood. The art will be on display through November 6, from 3:00 – 6:00 daily and by appointment.
A celebration of the mural and mosaic planters at Andersen United School, created through the Semilla Project, takes place Saturday at 11:00 am, with music and poetry by Andersen students.

Place your order by Friday for chicken or vegetarian tamales, $3 each or $30 for a dozen. Pick them up at Waite House on or request a delivery.
