Many big city school districts already use public transit to transport high school students. Minneapolis started a similar pilot about three years ago and now plans to extend it citywide. Students living outside the two-mile walk zone or those qualifying for free and reduced lunch will receive a free unlimited metro card to use between 5am and 10pm.

With so many new riders, the Minneapolis Youth Congress decided to produce a video as a guide for first-timers.
