Because of the hard times facing families, St. Paul will offer families help in paying fees for children to participate in St. Paul Parks & Recreation activities. Starting April 1, famlies can pick up applications at all St. Paul recreation centers and on the Parks website. The deadline for submitting applications is May 1.
Because funds are limited, qualified families will be placed in a lottery drawing to receive $75 in fee assistance per child for up to three children in a family. (Families with more than three children can receive $50 per child in fee assistance.) The fee assistance is applied directly to the fees charged

“Any kind of activity that we offer” has fees attached, said Parks spokesperson Andy Rodriguez. For example, open swim costs about $4 per session, and indoor soccer costs $30 for five-year-olds and $40 for the under-ten crowd at one park.
