Kids can learn how to skate at Sibley Park (1900 E. 40th St.) this winter.
Lessons are offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays through Feb. 18.
“Finally, the ice is nice and we have a wonderful professional figure skater leading the lessons on Wednesday nights from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. until the ice is not so nice and we close,” said park employee Brian Hall. “Come on down and sign up.”

Free skates are available in the warming house on a first-come, first-serve basis. Figure and hockey skates go up to adult size 10, although there are more in the smaller sizes than the larger ones.
The rink will remain open through Feb. 20, weather and ice conditions permitting.
You can also sign up for a hockey team, or drop in and join a pick-up games. “All age groups come down and play together,” said Hall.
