I’m working on a story about the federal subsidy program that has helped laid-off people keep their health care. Under this program, which was part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, qualified individuals have had to pay only 35 percent of their monthly premium’s cost. In Minnesota, the state has even picked up the monthly tab for its lowest-income folks.
