DFL Representative Steve Simon makes his debut appearance this month on Democratic Visions. The Hopkins/St. Louis Park legislator
feels that too many Republicans are stuck in the past, unwilling to accept Governor Dayton’s counsel for balance and fairness. Republicans, of course, recommitted themselves earlier this week to not compromising as they unveiled their no-tax budget proposals.

The current session echoes Simon’s first term as a representative in 2005 when House DFLers were also in the minority. Back then, under Governor Pawlenty, State Government faced a partial shutdown. Simon also talks about likely Minnesota Republican ploys to get union busting and voter photo ID constitutional amendment items on the ballot in 2012.
Democratic Visions is produced by DFL volunteers through DFL Senate District 42.
