Students around Minnesota have returned to school. And for sixth graders, this year brings a new requirement – that they complete a full year of study of Minnesota history, civics, geography and economics.
The Minnesota Historical Society has stepped in to help with an updated textbook called “Northern Lights”. The book is designed to help middle schoolers become “state smart.” Kevin Maijala is project director for the Northern Lights textbook. He talked with KFAI’s Ron Thums on The Morning Blend.
