One of the most perplexing challenges facing Northeasters, residents, commercial enterprises, land use, health and economic planners, is the future of Shoreham Yards. One organization, the Shoreham Area Advisory Committee (SAAC) has been grappling for years with the conundrum. Members of SAAC will hold their quarterly meeting on Monday, January 9, 7:00 p.m. at the Windom Park Recreation Center, 2251 Hayes Street Northeast. The Center is at the North end of Pillsbury School.
On the agenda for the meeting are an update from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA). Reassignment to the SuperFund program, and an update from the City of Minneapolis health, environmental and business staff. Representatives of the Canadian Pacific Railway will also provide an update of the company’s plans.
