NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES | Northeast Minneapolis talks bikes on July 12

Print

Chances are pretty good that you have ridden a bike recently – to work, in the park, cross country. Green bikes from Nice Ride roll through neighborhoods and city sites. There are Bike Walk Twin Cities posters and reminders at every turn. Love it or loathe it, biking is where’s it at in Minneapolis.

It seems just right, then, that the July 12 Northeast Network meeting gives new meaning to the cant “The Wheels of the Bikes Go Round & Round.”

Speakers for the morning include

  • Mee Chang, representing Transit for Livable Communities/Bike Walk Twin Cities
  • Steve Clark, Walking and Bicycling Program Manager, Transit for Livable Communities/Bike Walk Twin Cities
  • Shaun Murphy, Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator, Minneapolis Department of Public Works, and
  • Charles Youel, avid bicyclist and developer of the ArtCrank posters

The popular early morning Northeast Network meeting isThursday, July 12, 7:30-8:45 a.m. at the home of the sponsoring organization, the Eastside Food Co-op Granite Studio, 2551 Central Avenue. For those who haven’t caught the spirit, there is free and open parking on the Co-op site. Complimentary coffee and (scrumptious) muffins.
