NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES | Mayday Eve with Vital Aging Network

Since its origins as a program for graduates of the ALVA/Evolve program the Vital Aging Network (VAN) has expanded with regular programing and active use of social networking tools to connect folks better than 50 years of age.

VAN will celebrate with a Mayday Eve Celebration, open to all. The networking event is Monday, April 30, 6:30 -9:00 p.m. at the Open Book, Target Performance Hall, 1011 Washington Avenue South in Minneapolis.

The program features the Kairos Dance Theatre, an inter-generational company that uses dance and storytelling to create community. Kairos Dance was founded in 1999 by Artistic Director Maria DuBois Genné. The 19 member dance company spans four generations with performers ranging in age from 2 to 98 years old.
Light refreshments, silent auction, drawings and cash bar. Cost is just $15.

Register online at free parking in the Open Book lot; inexpensive meter and lot parking surrounding.
