Distant Early Warning: Friends Plant Sale coming May 11-13 in St. Paul Friends School of Minnesota is a Quaker-run school located on Englewood Avenue in St Paul. Every year in May, the school holds one of Minnesota’s largest (if not the largest) spring plant sales. Veterans of the sale have come to expect a huge variety of plants for their gardens, including some specialties. One item that is popular are heirloom (non-hybrid) vegetables. Many avid gardeners love these plants with their deep history and unique tastes. Besides a comprehensive inventory of garden vegetables, there are decorative grasses, annual and perennial flowers, trees, and much more.
The sale takes place at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand. The hours are: May 11, 9am to 8pm; May 12, 10am to 6pm; May 13, noon to 4pm.
