Career fairs are ubiquitous as graduates hit the job market. What about adults who are not on the job market but who want to explore the possibilities of a new or expanded career.
The Twin Cities Adult Education Alliance and SHIFT, a Twin Cities-based nonprofit network, are working on that. For adult learners the groups are sponsoring an Encore Career Education Fair. It’s Tuesday, May 21, 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Minnesota State University Mankato Edina Campus, 7700 France Avenue.
Presenters will provide an overview of CE opportunities while a panel of business people and recruiters will discuss employer interest in older workers and skills needed for jobs that are becoming available.
The Fair will focus on the experienced worker who may be ready for job enhancement, a promotion, or a career change that would be propelled by a course, a certificate or degree completion. Information on financial aid will be available.
Participation is free and open.
