NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES | EFC movie night: “Our Daily Bread”

Print

Movie Night at the Eastside Food Coop this month features “Our Daily Bread”, a look into the little-known world of high-tech agriculture. It’s Thursday, March 15, 7:00 p.m. at the Eastside Cooper Granite Studio, 2551 Central Avenue NE. Free and open – refreshments.

The film offers a series of sci-fi like wide screen images depicting the places where food is cultivated and processed. Promotional materials for the film describe “surreal landscapes optimized for agricultural machinery, clean rooms in cool industrial buildings designed for maximum efficiency, and elaborate machines that operate on a dissembly line basis.”

Definitely not Grandpa’s 140 acres of real produce and healthy livestock!
