NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES | East Lake Street Market Study Report up for discussion

Print

A study has been underway by Joe Urban Inc., regarding the state of commercial properties in the East Lake area. There are presently something like a couple dozen empty commercial properties from Hiawatha to the river. Some are newly empty. Some have been sitting unused for years. Even more have for sale signs. There has been a growing concern about the factors that stand in the way of redevelopment of these properties. The study has produced reports in two phases. The second phase will be discussed March 8, 2012, 8:30 to 9:30 am, in the community room at Gandhi Mahal, 3009 27th Ave S.
