The 4th Annual Spring WingDing will be held rain or shine on Saturday, April 28 from 11 am – 2 pm at the Audubon Park and Recreation Center, 29th Ave. and Buchanan St. NE.
In addition to all the other activities, this year is the first annual chicken wing cook-off contest. The public is invited to bring in their favorite wings by 11 am for judging. There will be prizes for the best tasting wings selected by the judges.
The WingDing is a unique festival blending a celebration of nature with enviornmental information, school spirit, great food from Northeast restaurants and old fashioned carnival fun.
This is a family event and some of the other great events planned for the day include:
* Performances by NEMS band and Edison band and choir
* Environmental presentations
* NEMS & NE Urban 4H Club activities
* Football and basketball contests
* Carnival games
* Bouncing castle provided by Castle Building and Remodelers
* Great food by Northeast restaurants
* Bird watching tours by the Minneapolis Audubon Society
* And much more!
The event is a cooperative venture between the Minneapolis Park Board, Audubon Park Neighborhood Association and Northeast Middle School. Northeast Middle School’s Family Involvement Group (FIG) has played a major role in planning and managing the event so come and support the school.
