Wednesday, March 9: Community Visioning Meeting 6:30 p.m. for the second community discusssion about what kind of community we as neighbors want to create in the next ten years for West End neighborhoods. Monday, Wednesday & Fridays: Young at Heart Exercise Class

9:30-10:10 a.m. Great way to get out, meet new people and do something healthy at the same time! Instructor is a certified Arthritis Foundation exercise leader. Class combines seated and standing exercises along with a short endurance routine. Cost: $8.00 per month. Come and try a class!

Mondays, Square Dancing

6:15-8:00 Toss those winter doldrums aside and come do-si-do at the West 7th Community Center. Modern square dancing is a great social mixer, combining a healthy atmosphere and stimulating exercise to promote good fun and fellowship. Seniors, couples, families, all are welcome! Join us on Mondays, it’s hip to be square! If you plan on coming, we suggest attending the first few sessions. After that, it may be difficult for newcomers to keep up without having those first few lessons. No pre-registration required, Fee: $4.00

10:00-12:00: Need help enrolling, reviewing or making changes to your Medicare Part D plan? Sign up for a 45-minute one-on-one counseling sessions with Janet Warwick. Bring a list of prescriptions you take and your Medicare card. Friday March 25: Why Do I Hurt Anyway?

10:15-11:00 This workshop will cover topics based on scientific evidence that shows us how to improve the way our brains work, and potentially lower our risk factors for developing dementia. The workshops will cover: (1) The Brain: How it works and changes with age, (2) The Body: How the heart and brain are connected, and (3) The Person: How social connections and emotional health affect your brain.
