Saturday April 26, Boy Scout Troop 67 will be hosting their seventh annual used bike sale. Last year they had more than 200 bikes to sell. Prices range from $10-150 per bike depending on type of bike, quality and supplies. There are bikes for kids and adults. There always seem to be a lot of bikes for younger kids. They also sell accessories, such as bike racks, helmets, Burleys – you name it, they’ve got it.
Last year I bought a very decent bike for $20. The best part, especially if you’re not a cyclist, is that there are plenty of handy parents there to help fit the bike to you or your kid. They’ll help you choose a bike, adjust the seat and explain the importance of a helmet to your kid.
Got a bike you want to get rid of? They accept donations and/or will consign your unwanted bike or accessory for a 20 percent commission.
The sale starts at 9:00, but the line forms earlier. If you want to bring a bike, you can check it starting at 8:00 am. The sale ends at noon, or whenever the last bike goes. Sale proceeds are used to support Boy Scout Troop 67’s outdoor programs, including summer camp and high adventure trips.
