National Night Out is an annual nationwide event that provides a way to build community connections and crime prevention. It encourages residents to get out in their community, hold a block party, and get to know other neighbors.
- A National Night Out block party can be as simple as inviting neighbors to enjoy a potluck meal in someone’s front yard.
- Street Closure. The City of Minneapolis offers free street closure permits on NNO. Permits are free if you apply by July 22. Visit http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/nno/index.htm
- Help Available. Do you need help planning an event, making simple flyers, connecting with others on your block, or knocking on doors? Please contact Ross Joy at CNO: email@example.com or 612-724-7457.
Whether it’s your first time planning an event or you’re continuing a tradition of years on your block, keep this link bookmarked so when you are ready, you can register your event online or through 311. Remember! If you want to reserve your block, you can apply for free through July 22. Not all streets can be blocked, depending on traffic flow. From July 23 through July 31, there is a $100 fee. Applications after July 31 will not be accepted.
Eric Gustafson is the CNO Executive Director.
