In my third year reviewing the Fringe, I had yet to see a dance show. So when I walked into the Rarig worried I was going to miss my first Fringe show out of lateness, I walked up to the first available table and got my ticket to Random Acts of BODYTALK. It was a perfect title for a random pick as well as an ideal introduction into dance. While not a word was spoken, I found myself very much in the mood for sitting back and just watching.
“Baby Bird” with Bijou Abas and Rebecca Abas was adorable, “The Luckiest” with April Dahl and Joey Ray was touching, and “Born to be Wild” with Kirsten Stephens and Dean Hatton was comical. In between some of the dance numbers are “Random Acts of Kindness.” Just a few seconds long and no words exchanged, these little snippets are easily digestable for a first dance timer.
