Last Saturday I attended the Judson Street Fest and posted a photo essay here; Judson Street Fest 2013. The Street Fest occurred at 41st & Harriet, just a few blocks to the east of Lake Harriet. Sunday I was a few blocks west of Lake Harriet attending the 39th Annual Linden Hills Festival. People out in the Parks and on the Streets, oh yeah.
I was only at Linden Hills Park for a small portion of the activities, that were happening all over the park. One event I missed was the entire Parade of Wheels & Pets. I am sure every participant was radiant, with wheels meant to impress.

Bikes were not the only items decorated.

Games and activities were spread out in the fields, I missed getting to the pony rides before they closed. Too bad as there is something about the wide eyed expressions of both the ponies and tots.

Axe safety demonstration? I am sure there is a story.

Information booths, and craft wares, art, and of course food stalls.

Performances of local talent.

And special guest Elmer the Elm Tree, was exchanging high fives will all. (Elmer the Elm Tree is the official mascot of the Minneapolis Forestry Division)
Give your local neighborhood event a chance. Get out in the world. Enjoy yourself. Have fun, be safe and love one another.
