Parade to Sunnyside

A Mardi Gras-inspired parade from the Co-op’s old location near 43rd and Upton, to their new location a bit West near 44th and France, drew celebrants and remembrances. On September 12, 2010, Linden Hills Co-op gathered a procession of community members which followed along as the Jack Brass Band struck up the music.
As there may be sadness in change, the permanent closing on September 19 at 9 p.m. of the previous address does have some undesirable manifestations. But the Co-op is picking up the tempo, as in a funeral March progression in New Orleans, and striding ahead with the goal of providing an improved community served, and serviced, store commencing officially on September 23rd at 8 a.m. at 2813 W 43rd Street (44th and France Ave. South) A wheelbarrow lead the possession transporting some items that will be entombed in a time capsule at the new Co-op building. Saturday, October 23rd will be the official Grand Opening. The Co-ops web site. Everyone Welcome.
