It sure is hot, isn’t it? Because of the weather, the July 20 meeting about the Roosevelt Library renovation has been moved from the Sibley Park Recreation Center to the air-conditioned Nokomis Library meeting room. The meeting will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The Nokomis Library is located at 5100 34th Avenue South.

“This meeting will focus on obtaining more specific community feedback based on discussion question responses, building configuration and the historic qualities of the building,” said Hennepin County Library Senior Librarian Kelli Koob.

Thus far, 34 residents have responded either at the June 14 community meeting or via web site about what they like in the library and what they’d like to see added. “Based on the responses we received, residents clearly appreciate having  a library within walking or biking distance and like the cozy feel of the historic building,” Kolb stated.

The meeting on July 20 will include a summary of responses to the community discussion questions and also more detailed concept designs. The meeting is open to all and there is no need to RSVP.
