Got a great neighbor?
Recognize your neighbor by nominating him/her for the 2011 Standish-Ericsson Neighborhood Association (SENA) Good Neighbor Award.
Nominations are due by Sept. 15 (see attached file). Return completed nomination forms to the SENA office at the address above or e-mail to office@standish-ericsson.org
The award will be presented at the SENA Annual Meeting on Oct. 3. There will be one “winner” and three honorable mentions. All nominees will be recognized.
According to Shirley Yeoman of the SENA office, the eDemocracy Standish/Ericsson forum (http://forums.e-democracy.org/groups/mpls-staneric), “as well as the responses to the SENA News ‘Neighbor to Neighbor’ column, have made it obvious that the neighborhoods are full of people who are outstanding neighbors. We want to recognize that.”
She added, “So — if you have a neighbor you think is special, please take a few minutes to submit the nomination form. It’s very easy – just tell us in 300 words or less how your neighbor exemplifies the neighborhood strengths defined in SENA’s mission statement: ‘stability, diversity and concern for others.’ If there’s someone who’s extra special to your whole block, get your neighbors to nominate them also.”
The SENA mission statement says: “The Standish-Ericsson Neighborhood Association brings neighbors together to build on the strengths of the Standish and Ericsson neighborhoods – stability, diversity and concern for others.”
