St. Paul Expo for Excellence Magnet Elementary students had a joyful kid’s inaugural march Jan. 20.

Nearly 700 students marched, waved flags and homemade signs, and chanted “Obama! Obama!”

Later, Ed and Melissa were two of the St. Paul neighbors that gathered at Black Dog Cafe in St. Paul to re-hash the day’s events and celebrate the inauguration of President Obama Jan. 20, 2009.

Eight-month-old Wren Schmidt caught the joy vibe at Black Dog Cafe’s inaugural celebration Jan. 20 and bounced happily in her Obama peace shirt and elegant skirt.

Her parents, Mike and Ara Schmidt of St. Paul, both work in childhood education. “He stands for the ideals I want to have for my family,” Mike said of Obama.
