This wizard showed up at the 2010 Art Sled Rally! at Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis Minnesota on Saturday, January 30.
As with any good wizard, this fellow slid around with masterful deception. Superior to all the other superb magic that blanketed the hill on the crisp winter day, this long beard took on the challenge with ease.
And then there were the technical wizards.
Boots off, gloves secured, the flight master slithered into the fuselage.
Inside the aerodynamic craft, the pilot braced for permission to take-off.
The ground crew finished their preparation work.
Our pilot connected his batteries,
all three propellers spun into motion, and off the runway, our brave aeronaut vaulted.
Another enterprising sledding airplane manufacturer prepared for flight by placing eye goggles prior to take-off.
Certainly of concern with this gallant was the ability to maintain visual clarity with the instrumentation.
Sometimes, getting into line entailed going uphill.
Once in line for the gate, the tail fins were deployed. Along with eye protection, this sledder was prepared with an audio alarm as well.
The slide guitar, blasted out pre-recorded music. Frank Zappa never got downhill with as much class as this rocker took it.

Has some great shots, with some video at the end of the slides. Especially sweet to see some of the triumphal endings.
There were very few rules.
And the universal mood was of warm smiles.
With kids of all ages jumping onto the happy bus.
While others, entered the Hungry Caterpillar.
Where it was much more roomier.
