PLOT Gallery (1016 W. 27th St., Mpls) has transformed a vacant used car lot (Western Motors) on West Broadway, just east of the Capri Theater, into a temporary art space. Gallery co-owner Ace Rice and a group of independent artists painted, sprayed, carved, chain-sawed and squirted their works into being on Saturday.
The once-blank eastern wall of the building at 2064 West Broadway was transformed this weekend by a group of volunteer painters, led by local artist Melodee Strong.
The NAZ (Northside Achievement Zone) along with radio station Jazz88 held a family-friendly get-together near Penn and Broadway Saturday. Performances by local singers, dancers, and other groups entertained the crowd. Tents offering local foods and crafts ringed the stage.
An afternoon gathering of motorcyclists gathered inside and outside the 44th Street Saloon Saturday afternoon.
