This is my second year blogging for the Fringe Festival (last year it was for the about-to-be-defunct METRO magazine). I remember feeling anxious about what to see and how to fit it in with my schedule last year. Even though I saw a good chunk of shows last year, I missed a lot. Even if I was able to see a show in every single time slot (55 shows), it’s just one slice of the fat Fringe pie (165 shows).
I’m feeling especially anxious, and even envious of what I’ve missed so far this time around. My first Fringe show, I chose to see Waste Not over Gay Banditos. And after reading the reviews that came in about Gay Banditos, I think I made a poor decision. It could be that my FOMO (fear of missing out) is kicking in hardcore. I’m trying to make myself feel better about what shows I’ve chosen so far (there are no bad choices in the Fringe! That’s kind of the point!). I also thought I could catch Rip last night (which has gotten a rave review by Matthew Everett), but I didn’t make it. Poor planning on my part.
This week I’m going to revaluate my schedule (making Fringe a priority) and the shows I have planned … and realize my blog name (Fringe Binge) as best as I can.
