COMMUNITY VOICES | Sculpture near downtown Minneapolis is a beacon to homeless youth

“Filling the Void,” is a new sculpture that was recently unveiled near downtown Minneapolis. It sits near the front door of YouthLink, a refuge for homeless youth. Sculptor Randy Walker worked with the youth and staff at Kulture Klub Collaborative, a youth arts program that operates out of the YouthLink building, to create the sculpture. Walker received a McKnight Public Art Project grant from Forecast Public Art to build and create the first installation of the sculpture.

This documentary, created by John Akre and Ryan Shelstad in partnership with IFP MN, follows the progress of this project from the winter to the unveiling of the sculpture this summer.
