Please join us at noon on Wednesday, December 15 at the East Lake Public Library, 2727 E. Lake St., Minneapolis, for our next Brown Bag event with MinnPost reporter and recount expert Jay Weiner. Jay had a distinguished career covering sports, and the business of sport for the Minneapolis Star Tribune before joining MinnPost in 2007.
Jay’s new book, This Is Not Florida: How Al Franken Won The Minnesota Senate Recount was just published by the University of Minnesota Press, which bills it as “the behind-the-scenes saga of the largest, longest, and most expensive election recount in American history.”
Jay’s coverage of the Franken-Coleman recount for MinnPost won the Frank Premack Award. These days, Jay is back on the recount beat, covering the Dayton-Emmer recount. If you have been following this latest recount battle, you will want to hear Jay’s insights. Autographed copies of his book will be available for purchase.
The Twin Cities Media Alliance’s monthly Brown Bag Lunches are your chance for casual conversation with some of the Twin Cities’ most insightful journalists (and journalists from around the world) — about journalism, politics, or whatever is on your mind.
