FREE SPEECH ZONE | The Quagmire Teens wins Best Youth Short Film at the Shamrock Film Festival

This past week, an amateur film created entirely by teenagers won the award of “Best Youth Short Film” at Rosemount’s Shamrock Film Festival. The creative process started when Sandra K. Horner, an acting coach who works with aspiring performers in Minneapolis and Los Angeles, challenged her Advanced Teen Master students to produce the film over the course of a month. Jose Manuel Hernandez, Kenya Evans, Nick Sabin andMaddie Sabin met to discuss the process of bringing their own original ideas to the big screen in a low budget short film. They chose to go beyond the requirements of the project and decided to put every effort into making this short film.The teenagers all fondly remember shooting in downtown Minneapolis.
