The president was inexperienced, they said. Weak. Oh, he’d accomplished some great things in his year-and-a-half in office, but clearly he was doomed in a couple years. Meanwhile, Congress, which had been a rubber stamp for this Democrat, was seen by the Republicans as out of touch with the American people, who were ready for a change.

I know that everyone is very, very excited about another recount in a high-profile race in Minnesota, right? Right? Hello?

Of course we aren’t. The Franken-Coleman recount was a long slog of Lizard People and three-judge panels. That said, Dayton-Emmer is highly unlikely to be Franken-Coleman II: The Bloodening.

The F word

There are epithets that decent people shy away from using. One obvious example is the use of racist, ethnic, or gender-based slurs. If you’re a decent human being, you don’t use them, because one uses them to hurt, to malign, to defame.
