Don’t miss the 1st Annual Standish-Ericsson Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration tonight, Sunday, Dec. 2, from 4-6 p.m. The event will be held at A-Tree Service, at the corner of 38th Street and Longfellow Ave.

Santa will arrive via fire truck at 4 p.m. and will pose for photos until 5 p.m. Bring your own camera.

The 20-foot tree will be lit at 5 p.m. The Waters on 38th Street has donated food. Sip a delicious cup of coffee or cider while enjoying holiday music.

Please bring a pair of socks for St. Stephen’s Homeless Shelter.

A-Tree Service will be selling Christmas trees and wreaths during the event.

This event is the 2012 Standish-Ericsson Neighborhood Association “Big Idea” winner. It was proposed by Andrea Darrington Heidtke.  SENA contributed $1,000 to make this Big Idea happen.

“Thanks again to the SENA Association and volunteers for your support and dedication for this year’s “Big Idea” to host the 1st annual SENA Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration (which will hopefully be an annual event),” said Heidtke.
