Each day crashes wait to happen as kamikaze commuters pour out of University Parking facilities and attempt to reach southbound 35W. The new bridge – an ugly 10-lane monstrosity – may have cost only a $quarter- billion to build, but what’s it costing to clean up the mess from the crashes?

The above picture shows vehicles in the upper right entering the 10-lane river crossing from the University Avenue entrance ramp. In order the reach southbound 35W – the green and yellow sign on the west side of bridge – the vehicles will have to cross 3 lanes of high-speed traffic.
