Each year for seven years, a crowd has gathered on the top of a steep hill in Powderhorn Park in South Minneapolis, Minnesota USA. The event is The Art Sled Rally. The official date has been determined to be the last Saturday in January, no exception — any weather, any conditions — Art will prevail! — or at least until it starts the descent.
Laughter, mirth, satire, wit, humor, exhuberance mesh well with chilled toes and runny noses. A humble winter carnival staged by a vibrant neighborhood. South Sixteenth High Jinks is the main force behind The Art Sled Rally. They obtain assistance and support from a number of organizations both public and private. Check out their website for more information and links. And of course, Thanks go to the individuals who create / preform / propel ideas and visions amidst bundled spectators on a hill in the middle of winter.

I discovered a blog post by Allison Osberg, where she gives some of the details on how to achive a winning smile.

Allison has also embedded a great video of some of the sleds. Just look out for the young trees.
I have a large quanity of my images at my flickr account. These should inspire you for next year’s Art Sled Rally. The last Saturday in January (Jan 31, 2015)
