Wear your costume to The Loft’s Dead Writer’s Party at Kieran’s Irish Pub on Saturday, and read some posthumous poetry or prose.3. The ubiquitous word master Dessa will be at the Fitzgerald Theater on Friday with a new album, Castor, the Twin. 4. On the radar1. Back for fifths, the Twin Cities Literary Death Match returns to the Twin Cities Thursday night for a new round of fightin’ words that usually don’t end up in bloodshed. In the ring this time at the Nomad is Peter Bognanni, Rob Callahan, Cole “Inky” Sarar, and Becky Lang.2. The Australian Pink Floyd Show is like the Glee tour in its insane popularity and classic rock covers. This world tour features the use of 3D stereographic technology—whatever that is. 3. The largest of its kind since 1996, the Walker’s new exhibition, Graphic Design: Now in Production, explores the profession that’s become so much more than that since the turn of the century.4. In the new exhibit for the Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program, Jennifer Danos, Natasha Pestich, and Marcus Young take “three approaches that play with and disrupt the museum site” while investigating the concept of Semblances. You might just want to see for yourself, starting with the opening reception at the Minnesota Institute of the Arts on Thursday.5. Expanding beyond being just a literary magazine, the way-cool grassroots organization is now a press, publishing John Jodzio’s newest book of illustrated short stories Get In If You Want to Live.2. The Twin Cities Book Festival is every word nerd’s dream date with literature. The yearly gathering celebrates anything and everything related to books, from the people who write them, the publishers who produce them, and the stores that sell them.3. Peace and love, man. Well, maybe life wasn’t really like that in the 60s. At the Minnesota History Center the 1968 Exhibit opens on Friday (with an opening party on Thursday), and gives patrons a glimpse into a historically packed year.4. He’s a little bit country…and a little bit rock ‘n roll. THEATER | Buy, buy, buy a ticket to Swandive Theatre’s “Crumble (Lay Me Down, Justin Timberlake)”

Seeing a show that’s kind of about Justin Timberlake at the Cedar Riverside People’s Center Theater is a lot like seeing an ‘N Sync concert at Target Center, only without 99% of the people and with the addition of free snacks. Five performers took the stage and had the fans—er, audience—laughing, crying (on the inside), and shivering in reaction to the heartfelt and raw prose; we were downright giddy to be in the presence of a modern masterpiece.
