I read the numbers. They are in the paper in abundance. x number of homeless families, x number of black boys being kicked out of schools compared to white, the school-to-prison pipeline, x number of families with no health insurance. You have read them too.
It has been a month, and the image has not left me. If something troubles me after a month I know I have to attend to it. Whether that be in writing, or perhaps talking with someone or calling a friend on the phone. In this case, it is simply to explore what I saw.
Recently I went to Bunkers’ Bar to hear a band and have a glass of wine. I don’t often go to bars. It may be part of aging and the lack of sleep after alcohol.
