So there’s an ad campaign out there that’s been slowly driving me…well, I’d say it’s driving me to drink, but actually, it’s doing quite the opposite. I guess it’s driving me to sobriety.

The ad campaign is in support of Miller Lite, and its message is simple. If you drink the wrong light beer, you may as well be a woman, and that’s bad. Especially as far as women are concerned.

Hating on the WNBA is sexist

I actually think the WNBA is doing pretty good for a relatively new product. The NBA wasn’t drawing tens of thousands of fans in its early years, players weren’t making a bazillion dollars a year. Like most people, I’m horrified by the ongoing disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. I hate BP for their half-hearted response to the crisis. I think the Obama administration has limited options for what they can do to stop the crisis (nuking the hole, while cathartic, would almost certainly make matters worse), but they have been too willing to defer to BP so far. I haven’t written about the Israeli attack on the Gaza blockade runners, because I’m not sure exactly what to say, other than that this is clearly a miscalculation of epic proportions by Israel. The Israeli government was goaded into action by the flotilla, and they stupidly took the bait – and in the process, destroyed their ability to maintain a blockade in Gaza.
