Indiana became a battleground Tuesday in what is rapidly becoming a nationwide assault on worker’s rights.
Democrats in the Indiana House of Representatives, taking their lead from the Wisconsin Fighting 14, fled the state Tuesday morning to deprive the republican majority of a quorum needed pass a bill restricting worker’s rights to collective bargaining.
For the first time since 1934 it appears there will be no representative of organized labor on the University of Minnesota Board of Regents.
Ironic, since the University of Minnesota, as a land-grant institution, was established to educate the working class.
Public sector workers are under assault, and no public worker has been more maligned than the schoolteacher. What’s worse, is that school teachers are being attacked from the usual suspects, but also former allies. Continue Reading
Tim Pawlenty is trying to portray himself as a battle-hardened christian conservative. He wants you to think he’s fought the big spending, bleeding heart liberals and kept spending down while pushing a conservative agenda.

Much of today’s hubbub is connected to the release of 2010’s year end campaign finance reports, specifically those connected to the Gubernatorial race. Tom Emmer, Matt Entenza, Mark Dayton, Alliance for a Better Minnesota, MN Forward, and other organizations spent millions of dollars on that race, and their reports definitely deserve scrutiny in a post-Citizens United political world.
